Getting into Medical Imaging: The Applicant’s Pathway

About Course

Most careers advice about medical imaging is written to recruit you. This course is written to help you decide, and then to help you apply well.

It covers the three things applicants get wrong: choosing between five related professions without knowing what separates them, planning against a route that does not lead to registration where they want to work, and writing an application full of adjectives instead of evidence.

It ends with the selection process itself: the formats you will actually meet, the ten questions every imaging programme asks, and what the first year is really like once you have the offer.

No prior knowledge assumed. Deciding not to apply is a legitimate outcome.

Continuing professional development

Learning time: 1 h 45 min (1.8 CPD/CPE hours). This is self-directed CPD. High Yield Imaging is not an accredited CE provider, so these hours are not ARRT Category A/A+ credits and are not pre-approved by any registration body. Most regulators accept relevant self-directed learning that you record with evidence, including MRTB (New Zealand), the Medical Radiation Practice Board / Ahpra (Australia), HCPC (UK), CORU (Ireland) and CAMRT (Canada). Your completion certificate states the learning time; keep it with a short reflection as your CPD evidence, and check your regulator’s current CPD policy for what counts.
